Your Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist I, you will:

• Promote a Positive Work Environment: Collaborate with your team to achieve optimal results and communicate effectively with all members of the interprofessional care team.
• Engage with Patients: Use therapeutic communication to build relationships with patients and their families, ensuring they understand their care plans.
• Conduct Comprehensive Evaluations: Assess patients to determine their level of function and develop tailored treatment plans.
• Educate and Advocate: Provide education to patients and families, adapting your teaching methods to meet their needs.
• Monitor Progress: Regularly assess patients and modify treatment plans as necessary to ensure the best outcomes.
• Document Accurately: Maintain thorough documentation of patient care and education procedures.
• Innovate and Improve: Participate in departmental projects and seek opportunities for growth and improvement in patient care.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Education: A degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
  • PT - Physical Therapist State Licensure (Compact license acceptable within 90 days)
  • PT-Temp - Physical Therapist Temporary State Licensure within 90 days
• Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience: No prior experience required, just a passion for patient care!

Working Conditions

At Houston Methodist, we value a supportive and collaborative work environment. You will:

• Wear scrubs as your work attire.
• Not be required to be on-call, but may need to be available during emergencies.
• Not require travel outside the Houston Metropolitan area.
