Description: Must have an Ohio RRT license in hand to submit. Experience with assisting in high-risk deliveries is required. Floating may be required within the Metro Region between facilities. Mid-shift floating may be necessary to ensure all guaranteed hours are worked. Therapist will assist in pediatrics and with pediatric emergency patients. Comfort with treating all ages is necessary, but specific pediatric hospital experience is not required. Helpful to have recent high-risk delivery experience. Must be comfortable with basic pediatric respiratory therapy care. Rooms include adult and pediatric ICUs and acute care. Treat and educate all patient populations with various diagnoses, including asthma, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, and non-pulmonary diagnoses. Perform both general and critical care tasks. This includes medication delivery, bronchopulmonary hygiene, and hyperinflation therapy. Responsibilities include initiation, management, and weaning of invasive and non-invasive ventilation, airway management, and suction. Assist with intubation, extubation, and maintenance of indwelling lines. Respond to rapid response and emergency codes and perform CPR. Conduct blood gas sampling and analysis, specimen collection, and spontaneous breathing parameters. Preferred experience includes changing tubing and bags for invasive and arterial lines. Work setting experience in adult critical care and emergency department is required. Airway management devices and suctioning duties include endotracheal tube suctioning, oral airway placement, and pulmonary hygiene tasks. Experience with medication administration for various respiratory medications is required. Familiarity with nebulizer setups and oxygen therapy, specifically high flow nasal cannula and trach collar, is necessary. Ventilator management experience including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation is required. Assist in high-risk deliveries for neonatal/pediatrics as needed. Professional knowledge and skills in ABG interpretation are crucial. Experience with specific equipment is required. Epic charting experience is preferred. First-time travelers are accepted. Scrub color is grey. No local travelers within 50 miles will be accepted. Floating between units and/or facilities is an expectation. References from within the last 24 months are required. Candidates should be aware that fingerprinting may be required for certain positions and results can take several weeks. Schedules can be changed with two weeks' notice to balance staffing. Modules may be required, with specific billable and non-billable hours. Orientation consists of 4 hours of non-billable training.
