Job Title: Sr. Attorney

Location: Orange County, California

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 + Competitive Benefits & Bonus Program

Direct Counsel is representing a well-regarded and growing law firm that provides full-service legal representation to public school districts, community colleges, and higher education institutions throughout California. With offices in both Northern and Southern California, this firm is a trusted legal partner in board governance, personnel and labor issues, public finance, construction, litigation, and more.

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Attorney to join this collaborative, mission-driven team in their Orange County office . If you’re looking to make an impact in public education and work with a close-knit group of sharp legal minds, this could be your ideal next move.

What You’ll Do

You’ll take the lead on a variety of high-impact matters involving education law and public agency representation. Key responsibilities include:

• Representing public agency clients in litigation, arbitration, and mediation at the state, federal, and administrative levels.
• Advising on employment issues including discipline, accommodations, and internal investigations.
• Counseling clients on board governance and compliance with education law mandates.
• Participating in collective bargaining negotiations and labor relations for school personnel.

What We’re Looking For

• 5–10 years of legal experience , ideally involving public agency, education, or employment law.
• Strong litigation, negotiation, and advisory experience.
• JD from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar .
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
• A team player with a proactive mindset and a desire to grow in a dynamic legal environment.
• Familiarity with California public education law is a strong plus .
